Weidmüller has expanded its RockStar® HighPower family of high-power connectors with a new RockStar ® HighPower 250 A, equipped with crimp technology for 250 A and up to 4000 V. The new power connectors are based on a modular scheme, as well as the well-known RockStar® HighPower 550 A. The ability to use one to four poles allows the user to get the right connector, depending on the tasks.
The design of the 250 A power contacts is optimized for efficient use of the connector space and makes it easy to assemble various vibration resistant connectors: one connector with three or four power contacts and ground, or with two power contacts, or, as the most compact version, with one power contact. The counterpart of the connector has two versions, with a dependent (on the case) and independent (on the bracket) mount, made of aluminum and has a large grounding contact area. Extremely resistant to external influences and corrosion, the housings are easy to assemble and meet IP68 and IP69k protection standards. The assembly of the newly developed support housing is simplified by the use of a mounting frame complete with pre-installed fixing screws.
Weidmüller has modified the RockStar® HighPower 250 A crimp connections so that they can pass through the M25 cable entry. Stranded, flexible and stranded copper conductors from 25 to 95 mm2 can be easily processed using standard crimping tools. No special tools are required. Excellent EMC characteristics are ensured by a metal housing adapted to various cable diameters. The wide temperature range from -50 ° C to +120 ° C and the housing’s resistance to external mechanical influences of up to 7 joules guarantees users the use of a new power connector even in extreme environmental conditions.
