PASSIVE COOLING

Характеристики товара

In some cases, the air or liquid used to cool the system is below the temperature of the desired temperature of the coolant. This makes it possible to use a cooling strategy that does not use a cooling circuit, but depends on heat transfer between the cooling liquid and the medium cooling the system. Such a system is usually simpler than an active cooling system and more energy efficient. However, the temperature of the coolant must be 5-10 ° C higher than the coolant.

  • In air-cooled systems, one or more fans supply air through a heat exchanger through which coolant flows. Coolant temperature control is achieved by controlling fans or coolant flow through a heat exchanger. Such an air / water heat exchanger is a completely independent device that does not require any additional components to operate, but it heats the surrounding atmosphere and also generates a higher noise level from the fans.
  • If there is a cooling water source, a water / water heat exchanger can be used. Typically, the cooling water may be a centralized water supply circuit supplying the machines, or a source of raw water (e.g., ground or river water). If necessary, a secondary circuit with a closed circuit can be introduced to isolate water, which is potentially corrosive to the refrigeration unit. The warm water returned from the chiller can then be used for other purposes, which reduces overall energy consumption. Water-cooled chillers are quieter and require no air circuit maintenance, but require additional components to function.
  • In some cases, different parts of the process require different fluid temperatures. In such cases, you can use a mixing plant to generate liquid at a higher temperature by mixing the cold feed stream with part of the return stream.
